Free hours tracker app for iPhone

“Free” in the App Store can mean anything from fully free to a seven-day trial. Here is exactly what Shiftly includes in the free download, what Shiftly Pro adds, and what it costs, taken from the current App Store listing.

Is the free version enough?

For most people with one job, yes. The free app clocks you in with one tap, follows the shift live, subtracts breaks, records tips and manual overtime, estimates your earnings, and keeps your history. That covers the core reason to track hours: knowing what your paycheck should say.

Pro is worth it when one of these applies:

  • You work more than the free job limit and want every job tracked separately
  • You want to start shifts from Apple Watch instead of your phone
  • Your schedule repeats weekly and you want it set up once
  • You regularly earn overtime and want it calculated automatically from your rules
  • You need to export shifts as PDF, CSV, or Excel for invoices, payroll, or records

What Shiftly does not do, free or paid

  • iPhone and Apple platforms only. There is no Android version.
  • Shiftly is a personal tracker, not an employer time clock or payroll system.
  • Pay figures are estimates of gross earnings. Taxes and deductions are not calculated.
  • Automatic overtime calculation follows the rules you configure; it does not look up local labor law.

Compatibility

  • iPhone with iOS 18.6 or later
  • Apple Watch with watchOS 11.0 or later (tracking requires Pro)
  • Mac with Apple silicon running macOS 15.6 or later
  • Apple Vision Pro with visionOS 2.6 or later
  • Language: English. App Store category: Productivity. Age rating: 4+.
