Hours tracker app for shift workers
You worked four shifts last week. How many hours was that? If you're scrolling through texts and doing math in your head, Shiftly can help. It's an iPhone app that logs every shift and adds up your hours automatically.
The notes-app-and-calculator method doesn't scale
Tracking hours in your Notes app works for a day or two. But by Friday you've forgotten Monday's clock-out time, your break length from Wednesday is a guess, and you're screenshotting your calculator to figure out your total. Shiftly replaces that process with a single tap when you start and a single tap when you finish.
What Shiftly tracks for you
- Start and end of every shift, with one-tap clock in and a live view of the shift as it runs
- Multiple breaks per shift, so unpaid time is subtracted correctly
- Tips and manual overtime recorded on the shift they belong to
- Hours, wages, overtime, tips, and total estimated earnings in one place
- Scheduled shifts you can adjust later if you stayed late or left early
- A history of every shift in Insights, so you can check a pay stub weeks later
Shiftly Pro adds unlimited jobs, Apple Watch tracking, recurring schedules, automatic overtime rules, and PDF, CSV, or Excel export. The free vs. Pro breakdown lists exactly what is included at each level.
Example: a week at $15/hour
Say you work Monday 8 AM–4 PM, Wednesday 2 PM–9 PM, and Saturday 10 AM–6 PM, each with a 30-minute unpaid break. That's 7.5 + 6.5 + 7.5 = 21.5 hours. At $15/hour, that's $322.50 in gross pay before taxes. Shiftly keeps that running total for you as the week goes on, so there's nothing to add up on Sunday night.
Who uses an hours tracker app?
Retail workers, servers, bartenders, nurses, warehouse workers, security guards, baristas, freelancers, and students with part-time jobs. If your hours change from week to week and you want to know what you worked before payday, an hours tracker is for you. If you juggle more than one job, each job in Shiftly can have its own hourly rate, currency, and color.
What Shiftly is not
Shiftly is a personal tracker, not an employer time clock, payroll system, or tax calculator. Pay figures are estimates of gross earnings based on the rate you enter. It runs on iPhone and other Apple devices only.
Frequently asked questions
How does Shiftly track my hours?
Tap once to clock in when a shift starts and the app follows the shift live, including estimated earnings. Tap again to clock out, or add a shift manually with a start time, end time, and any breaks. Shiftly totals the hours for you.
Is Shiftly free?
Yes. The download is free and includes shift tracking, breaks, tips, manual overtime, earnings estimates, and shift history. An optional Shiftly Pro subscription adds unlimited jobs, Apple Watch tracking, recurring schedules, automatic overtime rules, and export.
Does Shiftly work on Android?
No. Shiftly is built for iPhone (iOS 18.6 or later) and also runs on Apple Watch (with Pro), Apple silicon Macs, and Apple Vision Pro. There is no Android version.
Can my employer see my hours?
No. Shiftly is a personal record on your own device, not an employer time clock. Use it to check your own hours against your pay stub or timesheet.
